Preparing exports for an engagement audit
Clean sample exports shorten an engagement audit by days. Here is the minimum packet we ask teams to assemble before kickoff.
Teams sometimes arrive at an audit kickoff with production credentials and no narrative of what the numbers mean. That slows everyone down. We prefer a bounded packet you can assemble without granting write access to production systems.
Include: a current event catalog (even if incomplete), three representative dashboard screenshots with audience notes, a 90-day export of key engagement events with timestamps and account identifiers hashed, and a list of known tracking incidents from the past two quarters. Add the names of people who can explain product flows — usually one PM, one engineer, and one person who presents the reports to leadership.
With that packet ready, the first week of a Product Engagement Audit focuses on interpretation instead of scavenger hunts. If something is missing, say so; undocumented gaps are findings, not failures.
